April 22 New picturesI posted some new pictures, there is a picture of the camel spoon rack, a few of the kids, the nest that Karen noticed in the vines on the house. The gazebo was at the hotel where we scrapbooked. The snow was our back yard last month, there is a picnic table under there somewhere. The picture of my dad, well it is just a picture of my dad. TNT is one of the cats we have now, Bean was around before Cameron's time, but one day he just didn't come home. Broke our hearts. Anyways that is about all I have the energy for. Hopefully the kids will go to bed without a struggle. I definately don't have the energy for that. April 18 I forgot. To mention the best part about coming home. I got my spoon rack! And it is better than I could have ever imagined. Because it is in the shape of ................................. a camel of course! I will have to post pictures of it too, hopefully soon. But right now I think I need some chocolate. April 16 Miss me?I hardly bet anybody even noticed I was gone. Anyways, I had a good time with my sister and her scrapbooking friends. They were all wonderfully nice. I took the bus down Thursday morning and I knew my mom was going to be there with my sister to pick me up, although my sister fed her a load of bull so she wouldn't know I was coming. But I cried anyways as I hugged my mom. I'm just glad she is still around for me to give her hugs. So we went for lunch and did some shopping and I bought some shoes that my husband is actually proud of me for buying (I spent more that 10 bucks on them and they will last me more than 3 months). Friday morning we shopped for new pj's and slippers before heading out. A few hours later we got to the hotel, really nice place, on the lake, a few stores, etc. But our room wasn't ready so we unpacked or scrapbooking crap and got started. The guy at the reception counter said he would bring us the key when our room was ready. Which he did, and then he came back later to find out what we were planning for supper. All 7 of us in a little restaurant, we would take up a quarter of it, so he brought menus to the conference room and then came back again to take our orders. And then came back again to tell us they were ready at which point we all trudged down to the restaurant. Gotta love the service! We scrapbooked some more and then my sister and I went up to our room and left the rest of the die-hards behind until the wee hours of the morning (the sad thing is they were up at sunrise for more). Anyways when we got to the room myy sister noticed that we had no shower curtain in our bath. She called down and the same poor guy comes up with a curtain. Next day, Saturday, there was nobody to open the conference room for us so we called and woke the same poor guy up to let us in. Saturday was pretty uneventful, I got alot of pages done though. Saturday night I went up first to have a shower and dicovered that I was covered in red blotches. The whole weekend , actually for weeks now, I had been suffering with the usual allergies but the was different. I figured it must have been from either the bed sheets at my sisters (she uses Tide and it doesn't like me) or at the hotel, or maybe the mosquito bite I had gotten earlier. The mosquitos were absolutely huge. And thirsty. I called home and asked James to make a doctor's appointment just in case. But by the next morning I felt almost sick to my stomach and didn't eat breakfast. It passed though and by noon we were taking pictures and getting ready to wind things down and pack up for home. I must admit I was quite ready to go. It was nice and all and I had a good time but I missed my house and my bed and my kids and my husband. Sunday night I called home from my sister's to find out that the boy had new dents. He fell off the tricycle and landed face first on grandma's driveway, and skidded along on his face Karen adds. But they are alive and well otherwise. That brings us to today and the bus ride home and the doctor's appointment. I went to the doctor and showed him the blotches. I need to add here that even before I went away there was a single red blotch. I thought I would just go in if it was still there when I got back. I explained how they had just shown up. Then he pointed to the one that had been there first and said "And this one too?" so I explained how it had shown up first. He said "I think you have
such-n-such. Do you mind if I show your rash to my resident?" and so he called her in "Come here, I want to show you an interesting rash". She looked at it and he looked up such-n-such. "I've never actually seen it before" he says. Anyways it looks as if I have Pityriasis Rosea. Apparently it takes 2 or 3 months to go away. At least it is not itchy...yet. And it is not supposed to be contagious. I hope. And Cameron has some wonderful new gashes on his face, actually quite near his eye. I will have to post pictures. Anyways I have rambled on for quite long enough tonight. Good night all. April 08 Hoping you all had a Happy EasterI'm going to rant for a bit. I just talked to my cousin and found out that she didn't have a very happy Easter. Her grandmother passed away today. Granted, she was old and this was coming eventually. She had already dealt with cancer and had almost daily (although minor and treatable at home) heart attacks. Well a few days ago, I guess it would be 3 days, she had a bit larger heart attack and was taken to the hospital where they were able to treat her. But they kept her there I guess and she contracted Norwalk virus which took her life today. Now as I understand it, are we not supposed to go to the hospital to get well, not get sicker? And now her dad and her grandfather (also very old) have both been exposed to it. But they have been sent home to the farm to wait and see if they get sick too. I don't know but I think there is a flaw in this system.
A few years ago my grandmother was in the care of a nursing home which regulated her medication. Well one day they gave her the wrong medication and she never recovered. In a way (and I really hate to say this) I'm glad Cameron had that status seizure when he did because at least I got to see her, she passed away a few days after we got back. Again, you pay an arm and a leg to live in a little itty bitty room, you should at least expect them to give you the right meds.
Anyways I feel a bit better now. At least we had an uneventful Easter in my house. Cleaned up some, watched a movie, ate some ham. Easter in a nutshell. April 07 Oh He's Such a BratThe biggest kid, that is. We were making supper yesterday and he was helping because he makes the better pork chops. First of all the were frozen still, so he tries to pry them apart with a knife. Thank Goodness it was just a dull butter knife because it didn't stop after it went through the pork chops and he cut his finger. Meanwhile I took the rest of them and nuked em just a bit and they came apart real nice. Anyways I had gotten a bottle of water from the fridge, I asked if he wanted one. "No I'll have one with supper" he said. Well at least I offered. So about 10 minutes later he grabs a water from the fridge. I said "What happened to "I'll have one with supper" ?" So he takes the bottle, opens it up and dumps it on my head.
But that's not all. I wanted to call my friend and see what was going on with her, if she was still coming up this weekend or not. However he got to the phone first. And in High School fashion wouldn't let me have it. He had no trouble there as his arms are so much longer than mine. I even tried tickling which usually works. It turned out she wasn't home but HE got to leave a message instead of me. Double Rotter.
Anyways, I can count the number of days til next Thursday on one hand. And I'm packed.
Watch this though... this should get him going... I HAD LEFTOVER GRAVY FOR BREAKFAST!!!!! April 02 Stupid Mondays.Whoever invented them anyways?
Today was another of those make-you-want-to-run-home-and-hide days. I was scheduled from 9-1 for a reason. My husband needs to be at work at 2. My son doesn't have school today. Therefore I need to leave work at 1. Well it was one thing after another that apparenly only I could do because I got stuck there until at least 1:40 and thus my husband was late for work. Unfortunately I most likely came across as quite rude to the last lady, I was after all already half an hour late.
What makes it worse is that our computer tech is officially gone so we are short another fulltime staff and only have a part time staff to take her place. Granted she is trained and all but she only wants bare minimum hours. Which I guess is better than nothing so I shouldn't complain.
Mondays are useless. I oughta start a petition to ban them and have some other day instead.
Only 9 more days though. I just need to get through 9 more days without killing anybody or quitting.
And my husband won't let me pack yet. So I've been rearranging things instead. Actually I packed a few things this morning but ssshhhhhhh... don't tell him.
PS: I just noticed that the date and time on this post is a little off. Must be about an hour. I'll blame it on the time change. |
